Soprano

Soprano Lauren Michelle was born in Los Angeles. Here she studied at the University of California, after which she continued her studies at The Juilliard School in New York. After her debut with the Washington National Opera, she performed at many international opera houses and festivals, including Opera Theater of Saint Louis, Royal Opera House, Teatro alla Scala and the Wiener Staatsoper. Michelle has received awards in over 15 competitions, including the BBC Cardiff Singer of the World Competition. She will make several role debuts in the 2023-24 season, including Violetta in Verdi's La traviata and Contessa in Mozart's Le nozze di Figaro. In 2023 she made her debut with Dutch National Opera in the role of Jenny Hill in Aufstieg und Fall der Stadt Mahagonny.
