Leonie van Rheden

Mezzo-soprano Leonie van Rheden studied at the conservatories of Arnhem and Utrecht and was an ensemble member at the Aalto Musiktheater in Essen. There she performed the roles of Flora Bervoix in La Traviata, Dritte Magd in Elektra and , Smeraldine in L’amour des Trois Orange among others. In 2016, Van Rheden made her debut with the Nederlandse Reisopera as Dryade in Ariadne auf Naxos, and in 2019 she subsequently made her debut with Dutch National Opera in the family performance De jongen die te snel groeide. In 2020, she appeared at the Festival d'Aix-en-Provence, performing in Aufstieg und Fall der Stadt Mahagonny. In May 2022, Van Rheden made her debut with Opera Zuid with A Midsummer Night’s Dream, in which  she performed the role of Hermia.
