Martin Gantner
Baritone
German baritone Martin Gantner studied singing at the Karlsruhe Conservatory and was a member of the Bayerische Staatsoper München's ensemble from 1993 to 2007. He has sung at the opera houses of Dresden, Stuttgart, Los Angeles, Florence, Cologne, Berlin and New York, among many others. His repertoire includes such roles as Klingsor in Parsifal, Friedrich von Telramund in Lohengrin, Sixtus Beckmesser in Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg, Gyges in Zemlinsky's Der König Kandaules and the title role in Krenek's Der Diktator. With Dutch National Opera, he previously performed the role of Herr von Faninal in the premiere of Jan Philipp Gloger's production of Der Rosenkavalier.
