Martina Serafin
Soprano
Martina Serafin was born into a family of musicians and studied at the Vienna Conservatory under Otto Edelman. She made her debut in operetta (Lehár, Strauss, Kalman) before becoming an operatic soprano on the world’s most prominent stages. She is a celebrated performer of roles such as Tosca in the eponymous opera, Brünnhilde in Die Walküre, the title role in Turandot, Leonora in Il trovatore and Minnie in La fanciulla del West. With Dutch National Opera, she previously sang the roles of Elisabeth in Tannhäuser (2007) and Brünnhilde in Die Walküre (2019).
