Mezzo-soprano

The British mezzo-soprano Polly Leech was a member of Dutch National Opera Studio in the 2018/19 and 2019/20 seasons. During her training, she sang the roles of Abra in Juditha Triumphans, Fidalma in Il matrimonio segreto, Tisbe in La Cenerentola and Romaine Brooks in Willem Jeths’ Ritratto. After completing the Opera Studio programme, she returned to Dutch National Opera several times for FAUST [working title] and as Cherubino in Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro, Haydn’s Missa in tempore belli and Mercédès in Carmen. Last season, she was one of the soloists in Barbora Horáková’s stage direction of Haydn’s Missa. In the autumn of 2022, she played Mercédès in Carmen at Dutch National Opera.

  • May 2024 Polly will sing the role of La suora zelatrice (Suor Angelica) and La Ciesca (Gianni Schicchi) in Il trittico at Dutch National Opera.
