Sam Carl

The bass-baritone Sam Carl was a member of Dutch National Opera Studio from 2019 to 2021. Since then, his singing roles have included Colline in La bohème (Staatstheater Darmstadt), Nick Shadow in The Rake’s Progress and Leporello in Don Giovanni (Glyndebourne Festival), and the title role in Massenet’s Don Quichotte (Bregenz Festival). He has previously performed at Dutch National Opera as Der Holzhacker in Königskinder (2022), in Pedro Beriso and Mart van Berckel’s Ändere die Welt! (2023), as Talpa in Il Tabarro (2023), and as Betto di Signa in Gianni Schicchi (2023).
