Thomas Oliemans

Baritone

The Dutch bariton Thomas Oliemans studied at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. He has appeared at the most prestigious operahouses and festivals, including The Royal Opera House, Staatsoper Berlin, Festival d’Aix-en-Provence and Salzburger Festspiele in repertoire ranging from Mozart to contemporary work. He worked together with conductors such as Daniel Barenboim, Ivor Bolton, Esa-Pekka Salonen, Yannick Nézet-Séguin and Jaap van Zweden. He also sung as a soloist with Amsterdam Sinfonietta, Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra and the Concertgebouw Orchestra and gave many recitals with repertoire ranging from Schubert to new work. At Dutch National Opera he has performed many roles, including most recently the roles of Don Alfonso in Così fan tutte (2019), Pluton in Eurydice - Die Liebenden, blind (2022), The Father-in-Law in Innocence (2023) and Papageno in Die Zauberflöte (2012, 2015 en 2018), the role he will perform again in this revival and in which he recently made his debut at The Metropolitan Opera in New York. 

  • From 5 to 29 December 2024, Thomas Oliemans returns to Dutch National Opera for the role of Dr. Falke in Die Fledermaus.
