How do I sign up for My Muse & Me?
Buy a membership in our online shop.
What is the duration of a My Muse & Me membership?
You are a member for exactly one year (365 days) from the time you purchase a membership. Your membership will be automatically renewed at the end of this year. The notice period is at least one month before the membership is renewed again; this can be done by emailing muse@operaballet.nl.
How do I buy tickets with the My Muse & Me discount?
You can buy discount tickets from the My Muse & Me selection. You can also buy them for other performances that are not sold out the day before the performance (sprint tickets).
We’ve made a useful step-by-step plan for buying tickets:
Step 1: go to http://shop.operaballet.nl.
Step 2: click on ‘My account’ (at the top right of the screen).
Step 3: log in by following the steps. If you have not yet logged in to the ticket tool after 22 March 2021, you have to create a new account with a new password.
Step 4: once you’ve logged in, you can click on ‘programme’ to find the performance for which you want to buy a ticket.
Step 5: if you click on an area of your choice in the seating plan (category 3 or lower for operas and category 2 or lower for ballets), you’ll see the possibilities for buying a ticket with MM&M discount.
We have a limited number of tickets available for our members per event, so make sure you order your tickets on time!
For which performances can I buy discount tickets?
From the start of regular ticket sales, you can buy tickets for the performances in the My Muse & Me selection. For these performances, we organise a fun, interesting fringe programme, and you can be sure of getting a ticket early! Take a look at the selection for this season, save the dates in your agenda and score your tickets!
We have a limited number of tickets available for our members per event, so make sure you order your tickets on time!
You can also buy last-minute sprint tickets: the day before a performance that is not sold out you can buy a ticket online and at the box office from noon by telephone (020 625 5455) with MM&M discount. Please check operaballet.nl in advance to make sure we have tickets available.
Attention: it is possible again to sprint online.
I can’t go to a performance in the My Muse & Me selection, but I’d really like to see opera X or ballet Y!
For all performances at Dutch National Opera & Ballet that are not part of the My Muse & Me selection, you can buy a ticket with MM&M discount (sprint tickets) by phone (020 6255455) and online, the day before the performance from 12 noon.
Please check operaballet.nl in advance to make sure we have tickets available.
Attention: it is possible again to sprint online.
How many tickets can I buy through My Muse & Me?
You can buy 1 ticket per person, except for our introduction activities, for which you can buy 2 tickets and introduce a friend to My Muse & Me and to opera or ballet. You can only introduce guests in the My Muse & Me age group (16-35).

How can I sign up for a performance-related activity?
You don’t need to sign up if you have bought a ticket for the performance that includes an activity. About a week before the performance, you’ll automatically receive an e-mail with all the details about the activity. For the dates and more information, see our list of activities.
I just signed up for a membership, but the age-related discount is not listed as an option. How is that possible?
When you order a My Muse & Me membership through operaballet.nl it will be activated manually by one of our employees. It may take some time before you see the discount and are able to buy your ticket(s). If the discount still doesn't appear after two working days, please contact muse@operaballet.nl.
When can I buy tickets?
For the performances that include an activity, you can buy tickets from the start of regular ticket sales. We advise doing so as soon as possible in order to get the best seats. And as we use a dynamic pricing system, tickets become more expensive closer to the performance date. So the earlier you buy tickets, the cheaper they are!
How can I sprint?
For all performances at Dutch National Opera & Ballet that are not part of the My Muse & Me selection, you can buy a ticket with MM&M discount (sprint tickets) online and by phone (020 6255455), the day before the performance from 12 noon.

Why isn’t the sprint discount lower than the discount for the My Muse & Me selection?
We use a dynamic pricing system, which means that tickets are cheaper if they’re booked early. It makes things nice and clear. Another clear thing is that you always get the same discount percentage, whether you’re buying a sprint ticket or a ticket for the My Muse & Me selection.
What is an introduction activity?
It’s a special, large-scale activity, for which you can buy 2 tickets per person, rather than just 1. It’s the perfect opportunity to introduce a friend to My Muse & Me and to opera or ballet. You can only introduce guests in the My Muse & Me age group (16-35).
How do the My Muse & Me Flirts work?
The My Muse & Me Flirts are linked to the My Muse & Me introduction activities. If you’re younger than 30 and have never seen an opera or ballet before, you can get an introduction to opera or ballet and to My Muse & Me for just €20.
My Muse & Me looks interesting, but how can I find out if it’s right for me?
If you’d like to get to know My Muse & Me without any obligation, sign up for a My Muse & Me flirt (if you’re younger than 30). Then you can go to an opera or ballet performance with My Muse & Me for just €20.
I get a student discount anyway, so why should I sign up for My Muse & Me?
With My Muse & Me, you can get tickets even cheaper than with a student discount. In addition, you can be sure of getting tickets earlier and our activities include interesting context and a drink (free of charge).
How is My Muse & Me organised?
My Muse & Me is run by a group of 8 young volunteers, of which three are responsible for the activities, three for online marketing, one for contact with our members, and a chairman. These volunteers organise all the ins and outs of My Muse & Me in consultation with their contact at Dutch National Opera & Ballet.
Why do I pay €20 per year for My Muse & Me?
We use the annual contributions for the organisation of our activities. This includes booking and arranging rooms, hiring speakers and providing drinks, for example.
How do I cancel my My Muse & Me membership?
Your membership of one (calendar) year starts as soon as we have processed your information. Your membership is automatically renewed each year until you cancel it or until you reach the maximum age for MM&M membership. You can unsubscribe up to one month at the latest before the (calendar) year of your membership expires. If you would like to cancel your membership at the next opportunity, just send an e-mail to muse@operaballet.nl.
I recently signed up for My Muse & Me. Where can I pick up my goodie bag?
You can pick up your goodie bag before the performance at our information desk in the entrance hall. We hope to see you at one of our events soon!
