Kyle Ketelsen
Bass-baritone
The American bass-baritone Kyle Ketelsen is known for his commanding stage presence in a wide repertoire. He sang in the world premiere of The Hours at the Metropolitan Opera, where he also recently sang the role of Escamillo in Carmen. Other recent highlights are the title role in Don Giovanni at the Vienna State Opera and Staatsoper Unter den Linden Berlin, Leporello in Don Giovanni at the Salzburger Festspiele, and Jochanaan in Salome and Orest in Elektra at Staatsoper Hamburg. At Dutch National Opera, he has previously sung Escamillo in Carmen (2009) and Nick Shadow in The Rake’s Progress (2018), in addition to Adahm in Die ersten Menschen.
