Roberto Tagliavini
Italian bass Roberto Tagliavini was born in Parma and studied singing with baritone Romano Franceschetto. He has performed with leading opera houses throughout Europe, including La Scala Milan, Opéra national de Paris, Teatro Real Madrid, Grand Teatre del Liceu Barcelona, Deutsche Oper Berlin, Bayerische Staatsoper, Wiener Staatsoper, Covent Garden and the Mariinsky Theatre. He has also worked with various companies in the United States, including Los Angeles Opera, Lyric Opera Chicago and the Metropolitan Opera in New York.
His repertoire includes many belcanto and Verdi roles, including Alidoro La Cenerentola, Fernando La gazza ladra, Lord Sidney Il viaggio a Reims, Maometto Maometto II, Rodolfo La sonnambula, Oroveso Norma, Raimondo Lucia di Lammermoor, Silva Ernani, Pagano I Lombardi, the title rol in Attila and Zaccaria Nabucco.
Tagliavini made his debut with Dutch National Opera in the role of Lord Sidney in Il viaggio a Reims (2014-2015). He returned to the company as Ferrando in Il trovatore (2015-2016) and Alidoro in La Cenerentola (2019-2020).
