The Opera Forward Festival (OFF) is the place to explore new and experimental opera. Alongside three brand-new productions on the Main Stage, an opera installation in Studio Boekman, and inspiring student labs where young creators present their bold creations, the entire theatre buzzes with performances and other context programmes that cast opera in a new light.
This ninth edition of the festival reflects on the past while looking ahead: how did we get here, and where do we go next? In an era of polarization, crisis, and conflict, we search for a way forward. The festival's central question asks: What aim, what future, what peace?
