Opera talent show ARIA, season three
Season three of the opera talent show ARIA will premiere on Sunday, September 1, 2024, at 21:20 on MAX on NPO 1. Dionne Stax will host this eight-part series in which ten talented opera singers perform a well-known aria each week, judged by an expert panel. The winner will receive a prestigious training opportunity at the Dutch National Opera Studio of Dutch National Opera.
The jury includes Rosemary Joshua, head of the Dutch National Opera Studio, Tania Kross, and a rotating jury member. Additionally, a Secret Judge, an internationally acclaimed authority in opera and classical music, will also assess the talents. This mysterious judge will determine weekly which candidates advance to the next round.
Opera singers Halidou, Ashley, Elise, Arthur, Ingrid, Sabra, Nima, Leander, Rita, and Anna will compete in ARIA. Accompanied by the National Youth Orchestra, conducted by Leonard Evers, the contestants each perform one famous aria. Both the expert jury and the mysterious Secret Judge will evaluate their performances. At the end of each episode, the singers advancing to the next round will be announced. The grand finale will take place after eight weeks.
